Inspired by JOY's Blog

so today is thanksgiving. and i have realized how much i have to be thankful for. i have an amazing family, one which God has brought together to support me, make me laugh A LOT, love me, and just be awesome. but this thanksgiving also reminded me of people we go on without. people that we were so thankful for at one point in our lives, that are no longer with us. and that gets hard. but, knowing that God knows what’s up is the best thing that we have to hold on to. so lets embrace the one’s we have while we can. for so long i defined my family by what its not. lets start defining our families by what they are, and what they can become. lets learn to love the old people in our families even if they are old farts. they have a lot more knowledge than we can claim. they have experienced things, learned things, and lived through things we have just learned about in history books. lets learn from them. figure out what made them who we are. family is great. its a blessing. we can always learn from them. learn to laugh with kids. learn to embrace being embarassing. because in the end, you will find more joy out of making their day by looking like an idiot than keeping your cool and not looking weird. because something you will find out.. no one really cares. people just want to know you for who you are… so be confident in the person the Lord has made you to be!

“Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you through Christ Jesus. ” 1 Thessalonians 5:16
